Nigeria, the most populous nation in Africa is faced with social contradictions, and requires peace and conflict resolution among her citizenry. The search for peace and conflict resolution process cannot be achieved in a vacuum. In view of the current challenges confronting the social, political, religious and economic fabrics of the country, there is need to adopt new strategies to confront them. This paper focused on peace and conflict resolution and Nigeria's sustainability. It was of the view that the persistent violence and insecurity, which are heavily caused by illiteracy, poverty, excessive corrupt practices among others, could be reversed through the instrument of education, as an apparatus for change and development. The paper recommended that Peace-education culture needs to be integrated into the Nigerian education curriculum to address the identifiable issues that are threatening the sustainability of Nigeria. It equally advocated for aggressive or massive education as an antidote for illiteracy and poverty, which are some of the causes of conflicts and insecurity. Youths should be properly developed while conflicts resolution strategies should be used to ensure peace building in the country. Also youth development centers in all the local government areas should be part of the youth development initiative to empower the youths and drive development in communities for promotion of peace and conflict resolutions among the citizens for achievement of Nigeria's sustainability.Downloads
