TACKLING EMERGING SOCIETAL CHALLENGES FOR NIGERIA'S SUSTAINABILITY: THE HUMAN CAPITAL CONNECTION: A LEAD PAPER

Abstract

The need to deal with the challenges confronting Nigeria in the quest to achieve sustainable growth and development informs this paper. Through re-designing the framework on the workings of the economy, the paper exposes that attention needs to be focused on human capital development, which is the core resource in realizing any desired level of change. The paper believes that this is achievable through a re-designing of the training system to include the contribution of all stakeholders in the training from the family system to the conventional school system.
